August 2019 issue

The August 2019 edition of Future Constructor & Architect.

Natural looking and eco-friendly copper gutters and down pipes from the Yeoman Rainguard range, were chosen by owners of a charming detached residence in North Yorkshire, who were looking for sustainable building products.

Phoenix Park is a new residential development in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, offering a range of two, three, four and five bedroom properties.

The elevations to a five-storey former record store on the South Coast are being finished using a proprietary render system, applied across 12mm Magply boards, secured to the refurbished fabric of the building.

Kährs have extended their wood flooring portfolio with a brand new collection of large format herringbone engineered wood designs, in styles described as ‘Modern Classic’. The designs are easy to install and suitable for both residential and commercial applications.

Hexagon Tower is a specialist science and technology facility located in North Manchester. The roofs of the laboratories were experiencing water ingress due to poor original detailing and aged interfaces.

A special facade for a special store

The premises of the Østjysk Våbenhandel in Denmark can be clearly seen from a major motorway. For customers, as well as those driving past, the unusual facade of this building catches the eye and is a landmark for the area. RMIG have manufactured and supplied 400 m² of perforated sheets that make up the facade, and with RMIG ImagePerf, a giant motif of a pheasant in flight decorates the building.

No – it’s not wood!

Powdertech Wood Finish (PWF) has recently been used to coat aluminium brise soleil at Cardinal Park, Ipswich, to such good effect that a local newspaper mistook it for wood and reported: “New wood panelling has also been added to the main building and a Cardinal Park sign added to its frontage”.
