Jean Hanna, Design Director at WWA Studios, has over 30 years’ experience in delivering large-scale projects for new-build and remodelled extra care, retirement housing and general needs housing schemes at a range of urban and rural locations. Here, she answers a few questions about her career and looks back on the path that led her to the position she holds today.

The Wood Pavilion #1 is a spatial experiment that is located near a river in the tourist area of Jiangxin Island in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. For the design, LIN Architecture overlooked the consideration of functional elements and began by looking for keywords that defined spatial aspects in the environment.

Brookfield Place, Sydney, designed for Brookfield Properties by Make Architects with Architectus as Executive Architect, is a mixed-use scheme that includes revitalising the pedestrian Transit Hall on George Street for Wynyard Station. Alongside 75,000m2 of premium office and retail space, it comprises upgraded multimodal transport links, new and renewed public connections that prioritise the pedestrian, and two restored and fully-integrated heritage buildings.

With a master’s degree in architecture, Yorgo Lykouria started his career at Himmel/Bonner, then subsequently moved to Helmut Jahn in Chicago. Following these positions, he started his own multidisciplinary studio, which led to consulting with HOK and finally founding Rainlight Studio, where he is now the Creative Principal.

Following various lockdown periods, work-from-home mandates and a move towards more flexible working patterns, the office is under threat.

A partnership formed by CREECO, the parent company of Eeyou Eenou Realty Properties Inc. Centrally located in Wuhan’s central business district (CBD) on top of a multi-line transport node, the shopping centre, designed by CLOU Architects, takes on multi-level transport-oriented development (TOD) characteristics, to discharge, channel, host and gather large visitor volumes within its V-shaped footprint.
