With January all but a distant memory, it’s time to look towards the offerings 2020 is presenting the construction and architectural industries. Firstly, towns and cities across the nation are rife with construction activity, with hi-vis and towering cranes ubiquitous; particularly within the capital. As well as a wealth of ongoing construction projects, we have an abundance of trade shows to look forward to this year; including the long-awaited kbb Birmingham, which returns to the NEC following last year’s sabbatical, and the much-anticipated Futurebuild exhibition next month.
This year, FC&A will be exhibiting at Futurebuild. Find us at stand A82 (Cross Platform Media) at London’s ExCeL to pick up the latest edition of FC&A and its sister publications, i-build and PSBJ, and meet the team behind the titles. For a line-up of exhibitors and to plan your itinerary for Futurebuild 2020, turn to pages 42 to 45 for our preview. Meanwhile, on page 46, we list the highlights for this year’s kbb Birmingham and on pages 40 and 41, you can find out more about the Smart Home Expo and the disability and home care event, Naidex.
Elsewhere in this edition – on page 32 – Richard Besant, Sales Director at Powdertech Corby, talks through current architectural trends and explains why the never-ending design possibilities of powder coating are proving popular amongst architects. Whilst, over on page 24, Marcus Hawley from Blackswan Property explains why mixed-use developments are meeting the needs of today’s millennial living standards.
