Alongside Her Majesty, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee that is to be celebrated at the beginning of this month, the much-anticipated Queen’s Speech was delivered in May. This time announced by Charles, Prince of Wales, on behalf of the Queen, the monologue covered an overhaul of the planning system to allow residents more involvement in local developments, a bill that “will empower leaders to regenerate areas” and an Energy Bill to deliver the transition to cheaper, cleaner and more secure energy.
