September 2014 issue

Show season is officially upon us. For the design community, September marks the arrival of new trends, materials and concepts set to inspire next season’s products and applications. Along with a whole host of insightful seminars and discussions, the events that take place throughout the country’s capital provide the perfect networking opportunity, enriching the industry with valuable knowledge and connections.

In this month’s issue, FC&A previews the upcoming 100% Design which is always rich with the latest design innovations and materials. Promising innovative content to reflect the key influences which have made London a global design capital, the 20th edition of 100% Design is set to celebrate the show’s overall contribution to the rise of British design in the last two decades, whilst reinforcing the importance, longevity and future of the show.

Based upon the central curatorial theme, Serendipity, this year’s 100% Design aims to express the opportunities created by the show – from collaborations to projects and product launches. For more information on the highlights and thought-provoking content, turn to page 38.

Also coming up is Timber Expo – the most important event on the UK construction calendar dedicated exclusively to timber, its associated technologies and many applications. For two days in October, Timber Expo will be a hive of activity and a showcase of products, innovations and developments. To find out why you should attend this valuable tribute to timber, turn to page 40.

Elsewhere, along with our regular spotlight articles, which profile a selection of outstanding projects, you will also find dedicated features on Drainage & Landscaping, KBB, Glass & Glazing and Cladding, plus an exclusive focus on Timber.
