This is the last issue of 2010, and what a full year it’s been! We’ve seen an appalling performance at the football World Cup, Brandon Flowers’ solo album (and the accompanying worry that it’s the end of The Killers), a new excuse for travel disruption with the volcanic ash clouds, a new coalition government who have a huge amount of work to do and the worst circumstances in which to impress an electorate, and I had a spectacularly good tomato crop.
The construction industry has certainly had its ups and downs this year. I heard a story from the comedian John Bishop the other day, telling about when he had a promotion to Director and how proud he was when telling his sons of his new job. After describing the responsibilities his new job entailed, one of his sons replied “Well, my friend’s dad drives a digger,” which he clearly found far more impressive. That’s how important construction is – and even kids know it!
Wishing you all the best from FC&A, we hope you have a lovely Christmas!
