An Outdoor Design Hub and a brand-new colour option: the latest innovations from Millboard

Luxury decking manufacturer, Millboard, works hard to give that added extra to those working in the outdoor design sector and over the past few months has celebrated the launch of an information hub and the market release of a brand new colour option: Antique Oak.

The Outdoor Design Hub is a brand-new informative resource for professional landscapers, architects, interior designers and master builders. This Hub of educational materials is entirely free and provides a single source for desktop learning, covering a broad range of useful and up-to-date information related to the world of outdoor design.

Visitors can browse for inspiration, catch up on the latest regulatory news and even pick up CPD points from the comfort of their own desks! Millboard, manufacturers of design-led mineral board decking, states that after six months of intensive work, the Hub is now ‘bursting with informative and engaging materials and news’. Marketing Manager Caroline Birdsall comments ‘we’re thrilled to have created such a valuable facility for the industry – we hope that it’s of use to a wide range of people, whether they are looking for design-theme inspiration or wanting to learn about the most eco-friendly and innovative design materials available. It covers lots and we’ll continue to add content to it on a regular basis.’

The Hub currently contains over forty pieces of learning-focused content, including videos, PDFs, handy guides, mood-boards and FAQs, in addition to a news feed that curates the best of the latest from across the leading journals and magazines. The Hub is intended to support the design of outside spaces from a creative and technical perspective, and will be updated to keep abreast of design trends, legal framework updates and items of topical interest.

Of course, Millboard’s expertise in the landscaping sector comes from their experience of manufacturing premium decking boards. Hand-moulded from natural timbers, Millboard decking is virtually indistinguishable from real wood, but outperforms it on every level. The mould masters for the Millboard range are carefully selected. The Weathered Oak collection, for example, is moulded from 100-year-old French railway carriage planks. This selection imbues the finished product with a satisfying sense of history and an immediate aged appearance for the perfect, lived-in finish. Each length is carefully hand-coloured in the incredible true-to-life tonal shades that are Millboard’s signature feature. This level of detail reflects Millboard’s desire to provide the most authentic-looking product available on the market today.

This month sees the release of the latest of Millboard’s shades: Antique Oak. Antique Oak’s natural, warm hues are similar to the tones of tropical hardwood and the appearance is reminiscent of attractively aged flooring. Antique Oak boasts more tonal variation per individual board than any of the other colours in the Millboard range, providing a beautiful and organic look. This shade joins Millboard’s popular Enhanced Grain range – a collection moulded from selected smooth timbers to showcase their grains and nuances perfectly.

In addition to Antique Oak, Millboard offers a diverse colour palette and a selection of textures to complement any design scheme, from the slick and contemporary Brushed Basalt to the dreamy and rustic Enhanced Grain. Each length is carefully hand-coloured in the incredible true-to-life tonal shades that are Millboard’s signature feature. This level of

attention to detail reflects Millboard’s desire to provide the most authentic-looking product available on the market today.
