Keen to share their unrivalled technical knowledge of the specialist bathroom adaptations sector, the team at the UK-based wetroom design and manufacturer, Impey, is now offering dedicated CPD training focusing on accessible showering in their new RIBA CPD training seminar: Showering Adaptations: A Guide to Specifying Wetroom and Accessible Showering Equipment.
James Walker, Specification Manager explained: “Our new CPD seminar covers in detail the subjects of accessible showering and adapted showering and is designed to promote a greater understanding of the requirement for inclusive showering options in all environments.”
Impey’s new CPD course covers the following elements:
- The growth in the requirement for accessible showering
- The benefits of wetrooms, level access and low-level access showering
- How to specify an adapted bathroom, including considerations for safe showering and slip resistance
- Issues to be aware of when surveying prior to an adaptation including surveying hints, tips and checkpoints for appropriate drainage and additional adaptation aids
As part of the RIBA Core Curriculum, the seminar, which falls under the headings of: Access for all: universal/inclusive design and Designing and Building It: design, construction, technology and engineering, can be organised at a location of your choice or at the company’s in-house training facility located within their Somerset office. The course sits alongside Impey's other popular CPD seminars: The Wetroom Evolution and Safe Showering on the RIBA website.
Impey was the first UK wetroom manufacturer to offer their floor former designs as downloadable BIM objects. Three of Impey’s best-selling wetroom floor formers became available in the Revit file format in May 2016 via Bimstore.co.uk.
