Rehau sponsors 2016 UK passivhaus trust awards and UK passivhaus conference

Fenestration and renewables specialist REHAU is further stepping up its involvement in the Passivhaus sector by joining forces with the Passivhaus Trust to become the main sponsor of both its 2016 UK Passivhaus Awards and 2016 UK Passivhaus Conference.

REHAU’s bold move is part of the company’s ongoing campaign to increase awareness of its portfolio of high thermal performance products including Passivhaus Institute certified GENEO windows, doors and REHAU Polytec aluminium clad curtain walling. REHAU also has an AWADUKT Thermo ground - air heat exchanger which has been used in many Passivhaus projects. Having run Passivhaus seminars in Bristol and Manchester which were very well attended, REHAU will be running further seminars throughout 2016.

The Passivhaus Trust are launching the UK Passivhaus Awards at next month’s Ecobuild exhibition, with the awards ceremony and Passivhaus Trust anniversary celebrations taking place in early July. Following on from that, the 2016 UK Passivhaus Conference and associated Passivhaus Expo is taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington on 25 October.

Martin Hitchin, REHAU’s UK and Ireland Chief Executive said: “The Passivhaus Trust is doing such a good job here in the UK that interest in Passivhaus construction is now at an all-time high here. We want to help translate that interest into even more live projects, so giving our considerable backing and funding to two such high profile Passivhaus Trust events this year will hopefully go some way to achieving that.

“REHAU’s German heritage means we’ve got a huge amount of experience in the Passivhaus market and we’re committed to helping drive new specifications here in the UK so that it becomes a much more mainstream option – as it is becoming in Germany and in many of the other European countries in which we operate.”

REHAU’s commitment to Passivhaus construction is a key part of its corporate sustainability agenda, which is focused not only on its own performance in minimising the impact of its products and processes on the environment, but also on supporting the efforts of the whole industry to meet the energy targets set out in the latest national and international agreements.
