Long Rake Spar proud to supply Addagrip at Liverpool Football Club

Long Rake Spar were proud to supply Addagrip with the aggregates needed for an iconic installation at Liverpool Football Club.

Addagrip-approved contractor Soft Surfaces Ltd were invited back to Liverpool FC in July 2017 to carry out the installation of BBA approved, resin bound surfacing for the club’s brand new flagship retail store.

As part of the pedestrian area at the front of the new store, a robust, low maintenance, porous paving was required. Just under 4000m2 of resin bound porous surfacing was selected in a range of colours to complement the design of the surfacing previously installed at the club’s newly expanded main stand in 2016 for which Long Rake were also the chosen aggregate supplier.

Working with main contractor Hawkspear Contracts Ltd, the Soft Surfaces team installed BBA approved Terrabound Resin Bound porous paving in blends of 6mm Rhine Gold and 6mm Tuscan Pebble, contrasted with a 6mm Lucerne Silver. There were also a number of new trees in the scheme which required a number of tree pits using Addastone TP, in a Silver Grey Granite 6-10mm aggregate. The tree pit surfacing was installed at a depth of 75mm and the tree collars backfilled with loose aggregate to accommodate growth.

The installation was completed in time for the official opening of the new retail store and the team’s first home game of the season.
